Completely control the experiment, and no outside effects. However, the subject will not act as if it was in a natural environment. If you don"t investigate people in a lab, you can observe them in a field study, or the outside world. They will act like they"re supposed to, yet you have little control. To predict: we cannot fully predict 100, we can still get close. The more we know about you, the more we can predict. Peers, family, society, culture, ethnicity, learning history, all affects you. If science knew 100%, we could predict 100% of the time, with 100% accuracy, or determinism. We can only predict a range of behavior. Free will is the exact opposite, and most scientists agree with this: humanistic psychologists, f-mri functional-magnetic resonance imagery.
