Document Summary

Most students have trouble with beginning their writing prompt. The words or ideas cannot be fully expressed by the student: writer"s block , most struggle with having to start writing. You must be aggressive and seek out your ideas. Inventing ideas can be achieved through: asking questions, outlining, clustering, freewriting. Most writing assignments require the writer to ask questions and provide solutions. These six basic questions form the basis of main ideas in writing. Outlining, is a free form way of organizing your writing: it is a freehand way to plan in the simplest way possible. Clustering, which is similar to listing, forms a cluster of similar ideas, rather than form a straightforward list: web diagrams are a good example of clustering, it is more of a visual aid than a written aid. Critical thinking should be your main goal in writing. Choosing a subject to talk about is where you should start critically thinking.
