Modern genetics: phenotypic changes acquired during lifetime do not result in genetic changes that can be passed to offspring. Collected fossils that differ from modern forms. Earth must be old, time for modification to occur (evolution) Species are not fixed/ change overtime: change in population- in order to survive, artificial selection (farmers)* Similar geographies produce different variation (convergent: look/behave same to survive) ex.
