Scandinavia leading the world in female political representation. This increased level of representation is contributed to nordic countries" higher level of female education and labor force participation. Additionally, nordic countries lean more leftist on the political scales and have well organized women"s movements. After nordic countries, the eu seems to find female representation important as well as women"s rights are one of their important agendas. France has tried to increase female representation, most notably through their 50% gender quota for all parties. The u. s. ranks in the middle of female representation. Not the worst, but certainly nowhere near scandinavia. Though these stats are slowly increasing, women are still very underrepresented in the house and senate.
