Document Summary

Introduction to remote sensing lab september 16, 2016. Enhancement for improvement of information extraction techniques (e. g. relationship to biophysical variables) Improves interpretability visual enhancement to aid interpretation (e. g. radiometric enhancement) Spectral enhancement enhancing images by transforming the values of each pixel on a multi-band basis (for multi-band images) Radiometric/contrast enhancement enhancing images based on the values of individual pixels. Spatial enhancement enhancing images based on the values of individual and neighboring pixels. Image data is not scaled to match capabilities of display device. Image might have a range of values between 40 to 90. Values from 0-39 and 91 to 255 are not utilized. Image values are stretched or scaled to a range of 0-255. Analyst can view full range of data values. X percentage top or low values of the image will be set to 0 or 255, rest of values will be linearly stretched to 0 to 255.
