Apical meristems: roots and shoots, growth in length, primary growth, primary tissues, primary meristems, protoderm, procambium, ground meristem. Lateral meristems: secondary growth, growth in diameter, secondary tissues, vascular cambium, cork cambium. Organization of the plant body: organs, organ systems, root system, anchorage and absorption, root cap, zone of cell division, zone of elongation, zone of maturation, shoot system. Zone of maturation cross section: epidermis, root hairs, cortex, endodermis, suberin, casparian strip, stele, pericycle, vascular tissue. Stems: axis to support leaves and flowers, transport. Secondary growth: vascular cambium, secondary xylem, secondary phloem, annual growth rings, periderm, cork cambium, cork cells, phelloderm, bark, secondary phloem & periderm, lenticels.
