ETH 2050 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Richard Pillard, Kinsey Reports
Document Summary
Homosexuality can be discussed in two different manners: homosexuality as an orientation and as an act/bahvior. The first type is called sometimes (cid:498)constitutional homosexuality or inversion. (cid:499) in other word, homosexuality is the psychic phenomenone of inversion. The second type is a homosexual act as a sexual practice. Even though the first naturally leads to the second, it is not always the case that it does, because we can think about homosexual virgins or homosexual friars/monastics who do not practice their sexuality. Conflicting statistics shows depending on who conduct the research. For years, homosexual advocates claim that ten percent of american males are homosexuals. Kinsey report, says that two percent of american men have engaged in homosexual acts and one percent consider themselves exclusively homosexuals. American men have the experience of an homosexual act but the half of them are either bisexual or heterosexual.
