Must appreciate what they can still do, rather than counting up the can"ts. Integrity coming to terms with regrets, successes, missed opportunities. Despair: missed potential, many regrets, raw deal. Self-differentiation beyond the work role most people highly identify with their work role (i. e. i am a professor i am what i do: so retirement is hard for these people. Boy transcendence vs. body preoccupation: body is starting to fail and will continue to do so.
