In certain cases, such as antisocial personality disorder, an individual may not be distressed by their condition at all. Therefore, impairment in functioning (criteria 2) covers those who don"t show distress. However, many people experience distress think of last time you fell in love with someone who rejected you. Much disagreement exists about what constitutes a psychological disorder. Throughout history various behaviors have been labeled as disordered (e. g. , hysteria and identifying as gay/ lesbian).
