Findings stand up as grand theory - base a lot of decisions on his theory. When we talk about piaget, we are only talking about cognitive development. Cannot be brought into realms of physical, social or emotional development. Cannot skip any stages, build in this order at a typical rate barring atypical environments. In reality, once you get from 1, you build on top of it to the rest of them. Not actually passing through 1 to get to the rest; actually, one then two builds on that and continues to go up - never grow out of 1, just construct on top of it. Don"t grow out of it, just build upon them. Active adaptation - we are players in the process. Schools are formal education squash this motivation to learn.
