Very small brain that teaches us a lot about early mammal brains. Krogh"s principle: for any given problem in biology, there is a species from which we can learn the most about it. In order to understand the brain, one must understand behavior. Lorenz, tinbergen, frisch want to get studies to be more realistic studies in order to get closer to what the truth is. Dogs will often circle before sleep, as they evolved from wolves, which used to trample the ground. Cats will sometimes drink with their feet by reaching in and lap water from there. This is from behavior for when water was hard to come by. Egg rolling behaviors: goose will roll egg back into the nest if it"s found outside. If the stimuli changes, it will still roll back a golf ball or a beer can. It"s a chain of motor sequences, not a simple reflex. Not reflux: tends to run towards completion.
