Wrote a book called woman, church, and state (1893) Voted into a leadership position at a tribe the same year she got arrested for voting sneakily. Had a lot of native american friends, specifically omaha women. Clan mother appointed chief and could remove the chief if she wanted. Doing the same thing and getting the same rewards is what they wanted.
