Master fears that he could be arrested which was a reflection of the reality of soviet. People were sentenced to prison camps for 15-20 years. Master is ideologically unfit with his society. He presents different ideas that are disliked. Parallel to yeshua"s story -- jesus was persecuted for presenting ideas society disliked. Master escapes by trying to withdraw his ideas and himself from the world, Yeshua is crucified for not backing down from his ideas if ivan didn"t hear the master"s story, the master wouldn"t ever exist.
