Develop instruments and methods for identifying diseases with light. Changing electric or magnetic fields create electricity and become electromagnetic waves. 3x108 m/s - the speed of light in a vacuum. V - speed of light in medium. Speed + angle change is refractive index in medium. When light crosses boundaries between 2 mediums with different refractive index, it changes angle. Total internal reflection: when light crossing refraction index angles towards bottom of primary medium and locks the light in through reflection (pictured in above image) Converging lens - takes light and fixes it to a point. Diverging lens - takes light and diverges it away from a central point. Combinations of positive lenses make microscopes and telescopes. Waves can"t focus to infinitely small points.
