Same kind of talk/ language as what the enlightenment was saying. Ben franklin inspired enlightenment in the french revolution. King louis xvi supported revolutionaries (us) in spite of british. Tariffs on manufactured goods and restrict trade. France opens free- trade with britain which makes things worse because britain was in industrial revolution. 1st blunder: economic (decision to invest in us and free- trade economics. Two really cold winters---> rivers freeze, mills stop working---> price of bread rises (average person ate 2lbs of bread per day in france) Rich are still doing well- makes a lot of people angry. Pamphlets are written about gaps in classes.
