People planted this bt 176 killed the european corn borer caterpillars along with a ton of other types of butterflies (monarch, black swallowtail, plant detritus, scrapping caddisflies) The caddis fly is a very important food source for the trout. Roundup ready crops it"s an approach inspired by nature, was like the number one herbicide. But the problem was that the weeds go through a lot more reproductive cycles than our crops do.
