General rule: the principal is liable for all acts by agent that are within the agents scope of authority. Can"t have implied authority for doing what you were told not to do. Point of view from the third party public. Apparent that agent has reasonable authority and they messed up. Person who is interviewing goes through process and offers job. States pay level and s accepts offer. Does not receive what he is promised. The person interviewing you made a mistake about salary. When you have governmental bodies, courts are very reluctant to grant equitable remedies. If you try to help and it isn"t working, you must fire them. Upon termination, express and implied authority is terminated.
