Floating removes element from normal flow and positions to right or left with other content flowing around it. Leave normal document flow as much as you can! How elements are nested within other elements (parent element, child element, descendant element) Inheritance - properties of parent elements are inherited by most child and descendant elements. - good place to begin css rules. Everything on the web or anything created as a web page has invisible boxes around elements. External: link to stylesheet - very good. Internal: within head of html document - sometimes ok. Internal: as attribute in a html element - to be avoided.
