Document Summary

Inertia: idea that an object at rest stays at rest, velocity tends to stay the same at rest or moving in a perfect world. Force: a push or pull on an object. Acceleration (the change in velocity: physical contact, one thing pushing or pulling another. Field: no visible contact, example: gravity, electromagnetic field. Kinetic energy: an object has velocity at specific given movement. Potential energy: has the potential to have velocity, the potential exists when two equal and opposite forces act on an object, it will go in one direction when the forces become unequal. Change always involves the transformation of energy. Acceleration, the transformation is due to an imbalance in forces. 1st law of thermodynamics: energy can neither be created or destroyed, it can be transformed of transferred, kinetic energy becomes potential energy, fast will go slow, slow will go fast. Completely random motion: can not predict why, no pattern, each direction is equally likely.
