Government should protect tradition-al institutions and moral values: Religious right: movement in the usa that advocates for the preservation of its concept of traditional moral values rooted mainly in evangelical christianity. Economic conservatism: lower and/or at taxes, limited government spending on social welfare, higher government spending on defense, limited government regulation of economy. Libertarianism: philosophy that the state is a necessary evil best kept small and weak relative to society. Social liberalism : government should not legislate morality. Economic conservatism : government should minimize intervention in economy, including lower spending on welfare and defense. Monarchism: system based on belief that political power should be concentrated in one person (e. g. king, emperor, sultan, czar, etc. ) who rules by decree. Legitimacy based on inheritance and (frequently) claims of divine right.
