Philosophy: god exists, god does not exist. Theist: a rm that god exists and believe in god (faith) Agnostic: suspend belief (do not decide whether he exists or not) In nite happiness (exists and you believe: at worst nite unhappiness (does not exist but you believe) In nite unhappiness; hell (exists and you do not believe: at best nite happiness (does not exist and you do not believe) Anyone who is religious does not essentially believe in god. Viewing god as means to an end instead of just end. No one earns in nite happiness, but can still receive it: hell. Universalism: all people will have eternal happiness. If you only believe in god to not go to hell, you do not really believe in god: using god is to not go to hell, the nature of happiness and its link to belief in god. Aristotle: full actualization; moral & intellectual virtue.
