Document Summary

Due to the boundless consumption of narcotics, alcohol, and drugs in the united states, the usage of marijuana has normalized across a diverse grouping of ages and social groups. To combat this, universities around the united states have created policies policies in line with federal anti-drug movements that center around college students and their constant exposure to these hazards. The university of texas at austin"s 102 drugs and alcohol policy is an example of that. This policy limits alcohol and drugs on the campus in order to try and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for students ("uts 102 drugs," 1989). While much of this policy is focused on the university"s faculty, sections one, three, five, and six of the policy are related to the students" usage of cannabis, principally its usage on campus or at university functions. The university of texas has also created specific guidelines regarding student behavior and the disciplining of inappropriate conduct involving drugs.
