Gold rush (1849) there was a devastating winter and the cattle couldn"t get to the water,etc, thousands of cattle died, Native americans tribe felt defeated, their land was vanishing and resources were disappearing. Native americans started raiding wagon trains: commercial farming, challenges- not enough water, real estate busters were convincing people the rain fall has changed, people had to sell their farms due to insufficient land. Native (western) americans: vanishing land & shrinking resources for native peoples.
