Most interest groups in the u. s represent business. Another type of interest group is the public interest group, Chamber of commerce: the most influential, general business keep regulations low. Aarp(american association of retired people) they protect medicare. Nra (national rifle association) tries to prevent gun regulations. Naacp protect minority groups, focused on blacks. Legislators tend to grant more access to two types of groups: groups that represent constituents, groups that contribute financially to their campaign. Electoral connection (relationship between the representative and their electors) Venue shopping it"s not all about legislators, interest groups can go to the different branches of government, e. g. if the congress is not paying attention they can co to the courts.
