Principles of control: least interest, more you care, the stupider you are less control you have, person who cares less has more control. Ex. never drive a rental car to a dealership communicates your: alternatives need, less alternatives, less power, more alternatives, more power and control. 2-3 dealerships in a town = better prices: resource control, more resources, more power. Ex. the person in the relationship with more money automatically has more power. Ex. women want to marry up: scarcity, when you have more access to a certain kind of thing, you have more power, when you are someone who is a scarce type of person, you have more power. Ex. the bachelor with twenty five women and one guy: having to wait for something makes it more scarce and we want it more, rewards, giving rewards gives you power. Characteristics: contracts every relationship has deals. Partners never establish deals explicitly, but they do.
