• Particular aspects of form
o Sensual-visual part of buildings
o Why do we want beauty?

o Le Corbusier built at a place where a woman was claimed to have appeared to the Virgin
Mary and show her to have a spiritual life
o Has strong spirituality; people come just to feel spiritual
o Original chapel was bombed and Le Corbusier built this Chapel
o Shape is unique
o Line – all harmonize with each other
o Texture – made of rubbly concrete but then has a plaster finish
o Color – most is white but there are certain accents with vivid colors (esp inside)
o Space – very dynamic space
