Reaches its peak in early adulthood and then declines across the lifespan. Crystallized intelligence involves your acquired knowledge. Skills useful for dealing with problems similar to those already encountered. Fluid and crystallized intelligence are highly correlated. Mental process are quick but do take time. Intelligent people perform these processes quickly. Speed would enable them to perform intellectual tasks more quickly. Give them time for more steps in comparison with those of us who aren"t so quick. Intelligence is created by faster processing in particular neural pathways. Wmc is a measure of executive control measure of how well people can monitor and direct their own thought processes. Intelligent are those who have literally better control of their own thoughts.
