Some things on monday s lecture will have stuff on exam next week. Movies to watch for next two mondays on comparative politics class: forms of political violence. How"s it expressed as result of econ modernization. Mass gathering that devolves into acts of violence amongst participated: just happens; not premeditated. Slight planning--rebellion: organized commission of violence, usually more organization & planning before violent. Involves political violence where victims/targets are bystanders/civilians/non-combatants: easy target/mark unlike military or law enforcement, terrorism, guerrilla warfare. Targets are largely military or bureaucratic: agency, soldiers etc, low to mid rank. Going after ppl with relatively low positions of power: unlike terrorism, not general, higher ranking bureaus & etc. Forcing out ppl in government via either kills or threats.
