Pump: so when exposed to antibiotic immediately pumped out before it can do anything. Cell wall: modify cell wall/membrane that prevents penetration into cell. Slightly modify antibiotic target: so drug can"t bind but still can produce. Antibiotics kill bc they inhibit certain enzymes.
