Another virulence factor: for certain strains of vc only (virulent strains)--ct. Has two parts a & b subunit. Each subunit has diff function that contributes to overall function of toxin. B subunit has function to bind to small intestine & then a breaks off & goes into cell then interacts with g protein (regulates things inside cell) Directly causes diarrhea which messes up signaling. Activates transporter causing osmosis & cell to shrivel up (hypertonic)
