Danish ship brought smallpox to iceland in 1241 killing 40% of pop (20k) Isolated bc no immunity/less evolution > less resistance. Small pox larger than all the other plagues put together*** By 20th cent more than 300mil ppl killed. Most likely infected cells of the mouth & upper respiratory tract.
