Medi-cal cancer patients don"t fare much better than the uninsured: california version of medicaid (health care system, finding cancer at late stages, not enough push for doctor patient visits. Re-imbursement rates extremely low, discourages doctors to see more medi-cal patients. Threats of isis attack on nyc and dc: fear often dictates public policy. Unemployment: anxiety, depression, over eating, alcohol, mental illness, increased cortisol levels due to stress increased blood sugar, blood pressure disease and death ( excess deaths ) Health and life span dependent on class (income, wealth) Ripple effect of unemployment in towns (can"t afford clothing, groceries, restaurants, etc. ) Viscous cycle: less likely to be employed with bad teeth, skin, etc. but unable to get the health care to take care of those issues without being employed.
