You come into the world making cognitive errors negative triad (self, world, future) depressed: learned helplessness models (seligman, behaviorists) The dog learned its behavior was useless and he stopped behaving. Learned helplessness believes that these negative events are stable, global, and caused by the self. We think the world is a better place than it is; we are all walking around with illusions: benevolence, meaningful, the self is worthy. We all think these things are true.
