Mauro fiore: first time seeing the final cut of the movie. Wanted to capture the heritage of the western. Characters are sort of mythical, scupltural, 3d, bigger than life. Wanted to capture it: extreme close ups to wide shots, close ups feel like they"re coming off the screen. Filling the screen: anamorphic helps that; creates a barreling effect. Lm: you"ve worked with digital a lot. Mf: did a couple films with 35mm not that long ago, including runner, runner: production scattered because they didn"t know how to work with it. Lm: 35mm film process has been used successfully for over a century: no one ever complained about it, when digital filmmaking became a reality (lightweight, can shoot forever) Shut down laboratories that would process film. Number of cinematographers like using 35mm film, but it"s harder & harder to use because of less labs, most theaters can"t screen it. Mf: tested new alexux 65; 65mm film.
