Brain damage: coma (greek koma)- deep sleep, persistent vegetative sleep (activity regions of brain are no longer active, brain death, near-death experience. Biological clock- internal clock system, helps us know when it is time to sleep/awake. Circadian rhythm- 24 hour rhythm that tells our body when to sleep, regulated by light/ temp/etc. Without it- asleep or awake all the time.
