Because a language may undergo certain changes in one area and different changes in another. Many languages begin to derive from one. Many languages are derived from the latin language, which is why several languages are very similar. We can reconstruct thus and prehistoric languages using the tools and techniques of historical linguistics without even having recorded evidence. There are many such families reconstructable throughput the world. Most languages are related, but more different languages have older common ancestors tan similar languages. The branch of linguistics that studies the sounds of human speech. Human hearing range is about 20hz-20khz, but maximum hearing frequency lowers as people age (i. e. 15khz for adults)
