Orthopnic position- position that offers the most relief of breathing, sitting up and leaning over a table. Deoxygenated blood- from tissues back to lungs, ineffective pumping cause ischemia. Stroke volume- amount of blood pumped from ventricles during systole hemorrhage, hypertension, thicker blood. Systolic- arterial pressure during contraction of left ventricle. Cardiac output- amount of blood ejected from left ventricle per min. norm- 4-6 liters per min. Preload- amount of blood in the left ventricle after dystolie. Afterload- resistance to left ventricle ejection, heart work harder to overcome resistance so it can fully eject blood. Hyperventilation- breathing too fast and not expanding lungs so not getting o2. Dysrhythmias- heart conduction disturbance, drug toxicity, drug and alcohol use, caffeine use, Tachycardia- greater than 100 bpm . bradycardia- less than 60 bpm .
