People bought dutch tea to get around taxes. Could have happened in new york, charlestown, boston, philadelphia. Passed to punish colonists for boston tea party. Closed boston harbor until the people of boston paid for thrown tea. Rhode island didn"t show up to either continental congress. Shot heard around the world starts the revolutionary war (april 1775) George washington made first army w/ no money. Officially notified england that they"re out (declaration of independence) Drafted by thomas jefferson & approved at 2nd continental congress.
