Evolution of homo erectus in java and china: dmanisi, republic of georgia 1. 85 mya. Dmanisi in the republic of georgia is the first place we find evidence of homo erectus" dispersal out of africa. Five skulls of early homo found at dmanisi. In the past some researchers call these homo habilis, but with the discovery of skull d4500 we now consider these to be homo erectus. Homo erectus: homo erectusprobably crossed the sunda shelf into the sangiran area when the sea level was approximately 50m lower than present, tools: oldowan tools, homo erectus morphology. Trinil, java: at the site of trinil, dubois also recovered this complete left femur in the excavation. It shows evidence of a fully erect biped. The unusual growth on the shaft is a pathological outgrowth of bone. This specimen is very similar to modern homo sapiens which prompted some researchers to argue it was not associated with the skull cap.
