Municipal recreation is like public recreation/city recreation. Raleigh"s demographics are growing: professionally, elders are moving there, and hispanics are moving there. Values- things one holds to be important: ex: money, power, progress, self-discipline, conservation, service, freedom, different programs value different things. Ex: disney values money where ymca values service. Who we intend to serve and what they want from us. Programmers should prepare themselves to know what"s going on in: demographics, social. Understand who is in your community or area: technological. Not everyone has technology, can"t just assume: economic. If people don"t have money then they won"t spend: political. Some places don"t support recreation so that impacts the program planning. Resource dependency: organizations are resource dependent, level of resources determine what the organizational mission will be.
