Work samples are direct samples of critical work tasks: work sample: develop creative content. Assessment centers are a group of methods for administering and combining multiple predictors: a series of realistic simulations to evaluate skills that are fundamental to the job, validity depends on, validity of the predictors. Wernimont and campbell (1968) pointed out that the best predictions will be made with sample of important and job relevant behavior instead of measures of predispositions. In-basket simulations the applicant is given a series of papers that simulate a typical in-basket (modern version has papers, voicemails, emails). Applicant expected to respond to the messages as they would on the job.
