The user context of technology: how does the user determine the use and meaning of the technology: ex. Ultrasound has different meaning depending on who is using it. Physician uses it to identify fetal defects, but when the parents see the ultrasound they are forming a connection to their future child: the user can affect the design and function of the technology. Ex. genetic testing controversial: these objects have a seemingly magnetic pull of the devices (pg 30).
