In CHD the blood flow to the myocardium is compromised because of progressive narrowing or
sudden blocking of a coronary artery or arteries.
A heart attack happens when blood flow to the myocardium is impaired, either because of a
thrombus forms or because the artery goes into spasm.
The extent of the damage depends on the site of the obstruction; if flow is interrupted to a large
