Nature vs. nurture: nurture is our nature because human beings rely on and only survive by the nurturing that comes w/ human interaction, environment impacts the brain, neurological processes. The part of an individual"s personality composed of self-awareness that only develops w/ interaction: looking-glass self. A self-image based on how we think others see us. We internalize the reactions we receive from other people. Shapes our identity & self-image that ultimately affects our behavior. Ex) a child internalizes the identity of a bad boy . Many who live in terrible housing conditions or substandard neighborhoods internalize this. Ex) it might be difficult to shed labels and perceptions of you in school or in the workplace that then affect your behavior and identity.
