After one trillion dollars in environmental protection was spent, emission levels only went down by eighteen percent, and many other pollutant levels went up. Some pollutant levels dropped drastically, showing prevention works, but control measures do not. We must recognize that the assault on the environment must be prevented; that prevention means massive redesigning of the major industrial, agricultural, and transportation systems: . We have the technology to fix pretty much every environmental issue all over the world. Prevention is the key to success in this environmental war. To make a wide-scale change (organic food, electric cars), the public has to want it, and they"ll only want it if they see the negative effects of the alternative. This is an issue, because the environmental issues need to be prevented, not fixed after the world notices them.
