Functions of myths: no singe or simple function . One function of a myth is to reconcile the world we perceive with ideas or information that are not easily incorporated into the cultural or cogitative framework we possess. Another function can be to communicate, reinforce, or subvert cultural assumptions: expressions of social value. Sex will kill you (transforms into vampire: sexuality versus romanticism, vampires vs. werewolves. Vampires can be seen as an idiom for aristocrats. Zombies can be seen as a collapse for social organization.
