Community ecology: characteristics of community as a whole, species diversity and structure. Effect on species 1 effect on species 2 type. Lynx and hare: the hare and lynx have large paws, and have peripheral vision, allowing them to see left and right with ease. It is made up of two organisms, or a composite organism: specifically, one is fungi and the other is algae, they can both live independently, the algae uses photosynthesis and the fungi uses cellular respiration. Nile crocodile and spur-wind bird: the bird feeds on the algae and fungi in the crocodile"s mouth and the crocodile benefits by having a cleaner mouth. Competition: use or defense of a resource by one individual that reduces the availability of that resource to other individuals, can be intraspecific or interspecific. Intraspecific competition is most intense; members of same species consume the same resources.
