Document Summary

Aaron hernandez suffered from the most severe cte ever found in a person his age. The holes in aaron hernandez"s brain are much larger due to the presence of these larger ventricular enlargements. The fluid pushes out and makes the brain larger, which indicates a lot of neuron death. It was first diagnosed in the 1920s but linked to football in 2002 by bennet omalu. Cte is thought to occur with repeated head trauma, which causes brain damage. It can also occur with repeated concussions or sub-concussive trauma. Sub-concussive trauma is calculating the force of the combined, repeated hits. Adding all the force of the combined, repeated hits that athletes undergo is thought to be like driving a c ar 30 miles into a wall. Those who have the greatest risk of contracting cte: boxers, professional american football players, hockey players, rugby players, professional wrestlers, mixed martial artists, rodeo people, military or other service men.
