Patterns of relations in society tend to be reproduced over time in a stable manner. Working class : those employed in skilled and semi-skilled manual labor occupations, especially industrial manufacturing. Working poor : those who are regularly employed (often in unskilled, service- sector occupations), but whose wages do not provide enough income to escape poverty. Deindustrialization : shift away from manufacturing and toward a financial, service, etc. type of work. Written around the time of the welfare reform act by bill clinton to get people off welfare and into the workforce, which ended up pushing people into working poor class and hit single mothers especially hard. Everyday difficulties encountered : finding time to shower and a place to shower, Living wage : amount you would have to earn at a job in order to meet the basic costs of living without any government assistance. Happens through socialization into the lifestyle of opportunities and relationships.
