Document Summary
Attention is the concentration of mental energy to process information. Inattentional blindness-fail to perceive something when our attention is focused elsewhere. What is the effect of this (cid:685)unseen stimuli(cid:686)-it also affects in some way even if we are not aware. Item currently outside conscious awareness, that may or may not be made conscious. Like words being on the tip of the tongue but not remembering. Stimuli we are not aware of but we can still detect. Automation requires practice, rate of learning slows down as amount of learning increases. Create interference between an automatic and controlled tasks. Not a problem with eyesight, just can"t pay attention. Cardiac rhythm-regular bodily rhythm occurs over a 24 hour period; the biological clock. Rem sleep-dreaming takes place, eyes move back and forth( closer to awake than deep sleep) Trying to make sense of randomly generated impulses.
